Accomplish Critical Driver Training in Small Areas

SKIDCAR SYSTEM, Inc. has been in the business of delivering driver training equipment and services for 27 years and continues to raise the bar for realistic and technically correct driver training without the need for an oversized, expensive, and environmentally challenging skid pan.

SKIDCAR training has roots based in real vehicle dynamics and experience from a 30-year racing and driver training career. The SKIDCAR SYSTEM, Inc. team continually watches for new, innovative products and ideas to bring enhanced driver training to all of our first responder clients, ranging from those with world‐class facilities to those with merely a small parking lot provided for their training needs. SKIDBIKE was one such product innovation, followed by the ATSS Smart Light System with Accident Avoidance, Braking, and Intersection Clearing modes, as well as the ultra‐affordable Infrared Timers.

To push the initiative of “Critical Driver Training in Small Areas” forward, SKIDCAR SYSTEM, Inc has now teamed up with VR Motion Corp to present a new equipment collaboration. A demo of the partnership was presented to the Malmstrom Air Force Base Ground Safety and Security Forces Operations this month, followed by a second demo for the A.L.E.R.T International Northwest

Regional Conference hosted by the Oregon DPSST.

Attendees utilized a virtual reality simulator, followed by hands‐on experience in a SKIDCAR with Electronic Stability Control. Together, these 2 technologies demonstrated the future of driver training and an end to the human disconnect in simulation currently used today in Law Enforcement driver training. The VR Motion Corp technology sets a new standard for current simulation offerings while the SKIDCAR adds real, physical, behind‐the‐wheel validation to complete the learning cycle.

SSI and VRMC have worked together to provide a solution for those agencies who are mandated to offer legitimate, realistic, and technically correct driver training regardless of space availability or limitations. The ability to learn outside of the vehicle and then complete physical validation in the SKIDCAR will save academy man hours as well as training fleet inventory, maintenance, and facility costs.

With ever‐changing vehicle technology, the requirements for driver training must be revised and achieved. SKIDCAR SYSTEM, Inc. is uniquely positioned to offer a technically correct solution to modern driver training objectives.
